Challenge Three - Let’s Move (Exercise is great for our body and boosts our mood)
No injuries please, choose a gentle exercise option to just get yourself moving, alone or with others.  If you’re feeling brave you could think about doing a “TikTok”… and if you can take your exercise outside into Nature to double the value!

Now more than ever, it is important to stay as active and agile as possible.  Sitting in the same chair, only doing a small range of movements and never really making our heart put in a little effort, can mean we lose some of our strength and agility.  Our bodies can become less responsive and the problems related to this can make us feel quite down.  For lots of reasons we want to stay as fit and agile as possible, so that we can keep doing what we enjoy and keep caring for ourselves and for others.  When our body is doing well and involved in regular exercise we tend to find that our minds benefit too!

In addition to this, getting exercise places us “in our bodies”, gets us connected to our physicality and reminds us to get out of our heads sometimes!  “A little less conversation, a little more action” in the words of Elvis Presley…

The next great thing about exercise is that is actually releases positive chemicals into our blood stream that makes us feel good, both when we are exercising and then for some time afterwards.

Now for some among us, Jo Wicks is quite the flavour of the moment but I’m not really into all that high impact stuff - the main thing seems to be to find the thing that stretches and exercises you, and that you enjoy.  Asking around Hartlepool Mind there is a lot of love for Yoga as well as for running and for weight training.  Somethings are easier to do now than others but we are all getting creative with how to exercise - living room Zumba, chair yoga using on-line sessions, using DVDs to help us or things like the Couch to 5k App that has the lovely Sarah Milligan telling you when to run and when to walk!

So, whatever your “Thing” might be, we would like to invite you to participate in today’s challenge to “Move” and then to tell us what you did.  We would be particularly excited if you choose to dance and maybe record a TikTok to share….

Don’t go mad though, no injuries please, we don’t want a “you’ve been Framed” clip to come out of this - just a nice moderate “move” would be great.  And do remember, if you haven’t been involved in any exercise for some time and perhaps have some health problems, maybe miss this challenge today and get back on board tomorrow.  You can catch up - but maybe speak to your doctor first and get a little advice!

Whatever you choose to do, just have a little fun and remember to smile!  This is not about torturing yourself - it’s about showing yourself a little love and attention and maybe letting it lead to a regular exercise slot each week, or even each day…  Body and Mind united, working together to help your wellbeing!

We’d love to see some photographs or videos - you can send them direct to us here via the contact page.

Now the final bit of the challenge is that if you have enjoyed the process and can afford it (please don’t give us money that you need for other things) then please donate via our Virgin Money page to help us keep reaching out and building a more connected, caring, creative and kind world for us all.

Ok, well that’s today’s Challenge done - See you tomorrow…..
Stay Safe Well, Creative, Connected and KIND!
